DSTV error codes look cryptic, but each points to a specific cause. Knowing the difference saves you a call-out for the easy ones.
The ones you can often fix
E16 usually means the channel is scrambled or the smartcard needs a re-authorise — often a quick reset. E30 points to a software or signal-search issue that a restart can clear.
The ones worth a call
E48 and E32 frequently signal an LNB, cabling or alignment fault — exactly the kind of thing that gets worse, not better, if left. If a reset doesn’t clear it within a few minutes, give us a shout.
If a reset doesn’t clear the error, call in the pros — our accredited Langebaan DStv installer team also runs dedicated DSTV signal repairs & fault-finding across the West Coast.
